The Symposium will be held in the historic center of Loreto, BCS. The event will be coordinated from the La Misión hotel, located along the malecon in the center of Loreto, and events will take place at Restaurants and Hotels throughout the center of town. The symposium layout and agenda has been specifically designed to maximize networking opportunities and encourage the exchange of ideas between all participants—scientists, governmental representatives and conservationists—working in Northwest Mexico.

El Simposio se llevará a cabo en el centro histórico de Loreto, BCS. El evento será coordinado desde el hotel La Misión, ubicado a lo largo del malecón en el centro de Loreto, y todos los eventos se llevarán a cabo en Restaurantes y Hoteles ubicados en el centro del pueblo. El plan y agenda del simposio han sido específicamente diseñados para maximizar las oportunidades de establecer contactos y fomentar el intercambio de ideas entre todos los participantes— científicos, representantes de gobierno y conservacionistas—que trabajan en el Noroeste de México.

The best way to reach the symposium and/or your hotel from the airport is by taxi. Taxis will be awaiting the arrival of participants and will transfer you to the symposium. The cost is $65.00 pesos or $200.00 pesos for a special van (1-3 people for $200.00 pesos).

La mejor forma de llegar al simposio y/o a su hotel del aeropuerto es por taxi. Taxis estarán esperando la llegada de los participantes en el aeropuerto, para hacer los traslados al simposio. El costo es de $65.00 pesos viaje regular en taxi o de $200.00 por viaje especial (van para 1-3 personas).

Loreto is one of the most popular tourist destinations on the Southern Baja California peninsula and there are a number of ways to get there.
- By plane. Alaska Airlines (Horizon Air) – Los Angeles-Loreto.
AereoCalifia: from Hermosillo, Guaymas to Loreto or Cabo San Lucas-Loreto (Sundays only) and Aeromexico (coming soon). All have service the Loreto International Airport.
Volaris: from a variety of mexico locations including Tijuana to La Paz.

- By car. For those coming from the peninsula, or the Southern U.S., driving might be your best option. Loreto is right off the main Highway 1 in Baja California Sur. It is approximately 4 hours from La Paz, 6 hours from Los Cabos and 15 hours from Tijuana/San Diego.
- By boat. Ferry Boats from Guaymas, Sonora, Santa Rosalia – Mazatlan to La Paz or Topolobampo to La Paz.

- Por auto. Para quienes vienen de la península, o desde el sur de los Estados Unidos, llegar manejando podría ser su mejor opción. Loreto está enseguida de la carretera principal 1 en Baja California Sur. Esto está aproximadamente a cuatro horas desde La Paz, seis horas desde Los Cabos y 15 horas desde Tijuana/San Diego.
- Por bote. Tambien puede viajar por bote/ferry boat de Guaymas, Sonora a Santa Rosalia - Mazatlan a La Paz - Topolobampo a La Paz.

There are a variety of restaurants and bars throughout the center of Loreto, and we encourage symposium participants to try new places. The welcome social and farewell dinner will be provided through the symposium, and a no host happy hour will be held at the La Misión on Thursday, May 26. Additionally, a number of the recommended hotels (see below) offer breakfast with the room.

Hay una variedad de restaurantes y bars en todo el centro de Loreto, y nosotros alentamos a los participantes del simposio a probar estos nuevos lugares.
